Food & Drink

Our Chefs

Head Chef Dennis Hatenboar joined us in September 2007 from Bar Blu Restaurant. Dennis has 18 years experience as a chef in busy kitchens including Oriel House Hotel. He began his training at Kelsterton College in Connah’s Quay in June 1989. Rapidly growing in reputation, chef sources the finest local ingredients to create an array of tempting dishes to suit any palate.

Dining in the Dunes Lounge Restaurant

Our recently decorated restaurant is pleasingly cosy with a relaxed atmosphere. The decor is warm and welcoming with stylish, comfortable, high back leather chairs and a beautifully crafted local Welsh dresser. With windows to the front of the hotel facing south towards the Prestatyn Hills it is the perfect place to enjoy a meal.

We serve an extensive choice of food including traditional and speciality dishes in our daily changing table d’hôte menu. We are proud to support quality local suppliers, sample some of chef’s favourites such as Roast Leg of Welsh Lamb followed by Pear and Almond Pie with Brandy.

Promenade Bar

The Promenade Bar has large windows overlooking the beach to the Irish Sea. Doors open onto the outside seating area which stretches onto the sea wall, relax and enjoy coffee in the morning, or a glass of wine in the evening, after dinner take a stroll along the beach while the sun sets.

The Beaches Suite function lounge

Our new function suite with modest dance floor is the ideal venue for your wedding, special celebration, corporate event, dinner dance, Christmas party or charity night. Patio doors open out on to the seafront and a private outdoor seating area and barbeque deck. The suite has a modern decor with windows all round in meaning that from dawn until dusk natural light spills into the whole room. With views of the sea to the north, the beaches to the east and the hills to the south, what more could you ask?
