Snowdon Mountain Railway
Near The Beaches Hotel
No visit to Wales is complete without a trip to Hafod Eryi – Snowdon. What better way to take in the ancient Snowdonian mountains and landscape than a trip to the Clogwyn Station on the Snowdon Mountain Railway and a visit to the Summit Visit Centre?
The Snowdown Mountain Railway
The Snowdown Mountain Railway offers two train services, the diesel train and the Heritage Steam Experience (Advance booking for 2022 open now). The 45 minute diesel service has been modified for safety during covid19 pandemic.
The journey takes in the Afon Hwch River, viaducts, waterfall, gorges, abandoned cottages, the ruined farm of Helfa, remnants of medieval settlements and black Volcanic rock. You’ll climb to 1,085 metres above sea level in the comfort of your carriage.
During busy periods such as school holidays and spells of fine weather this popular train service can sell out weeks in advance, so it’s always better to pre-book before travelling to Llanberis Station to avoid disappointment.
