The Beaches Hotel and Spa is located right on the doorstep of the most beautiful walking trails in Prestatyn. The Gronant Dunes is just a couple of minutes’ walk from us and offers stunning viewing platforms that give an ideal space for viewing the sea and beach below. As Gronant is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) these platforms are perfect for nature lovers to gather and marvel at the rare natural wildlife. Also, Gronant Dunes Beach has fine sand, which is a hundred percent dog friendly, bring your dogs along on the adventure any time of the year as they are free to enjoy the entire beach.
Located along the River Clwyd Estuary and a short 15-minute drive from the hotel is Marine Lake, a man made reservoir that dates to 1895 and boasts today as a gorgeous walk trail suitable for all ages, including dogs. There are two outdoor play areas for the kids and for those feeling adventurous water-skiing and wakeboarding are available through the Ocean Beach Water Ski Club. For our guests that prefer a more intense hike, Offa’s Dyke Path is a 177-mile (285km) path that spans a 14-day hike. Although this trail is popular amongst more serious walkers, those new to walking can enjoy Offa’s Dyke Path too. The ‘Bodfari – Prestatyn’ section provides marvellous views of North Wales coastline and can be completed within the day. Whether you are an experienced or casual hiker we recommend being prepared by taking a guidebook, wearing appropriate attire, and informing someone of your walking trails.
A beautiful beach that boasts miles of golden sands is Talacre Beach, just a 10-minute drive from the hotel.
