Near The Beaches Hotel
This man-made lake which is fed by water from the sea dates back to 1895 when it was originally used as a fair attraction to attract the many visitors who flocked to Rhyl with it boasting a boating lake and even a log flume.
Marine Lake Walk
The fairground eventually moved to the famous Ocean Beach however, the lake is still a very prominent feature of Rhyl today. There are some fascinating facts dotted around which you will find on your walk with information about the lake and the wildlife which lives in and around it.
The miniature railway, which is still in use today and is a wonderful ride for the little ones and grown ups alike, came to being in 1911. This is ran by a charitable organisation who run various activities on the train throughout the year. Water sports including water skiing and wake boarding also take place for those permitted to do so. This really is a stunning walk for everyone and is dog friendly.
There is also a free park on site for the youngsters to enjoy. Marine Lake is a 15 minute drive from The Beaches Hotel and there is adequate parking there. It is also right next the new Marina Cei shopping park.
